WANA (Aug 08) – Eleven Democratic U.S. senators submitted a joint resolution in Congress demanding the withdrawal of American armed forces from military operations against Iran.

 

According to reports, Senator John Hickenlooper posted on social media that American lives had been lost, prices for gas and fertilizer had risen sharply, and military weapon stockpiles were depleted, adding that the war should be brought to an immediate end.

 

He stated that he and his colleagues had introduced the measure to halt what he described as President Trump’s illegal military campaign against Iran.

 

The proposed resolution, co-sponsored by eleven lawmakers including Senators Adam Schiff, Chris Murphy, and Chris Coons, requested the full withdrawal of U.S. forces from hostilities against Iran.

 

Citing Congress’s constitutional authority to declare war, the senators emphasized that continuing such military operations without congressional approval should not be permitted.
