13 ISIS Terrorists Arrested in Tehran
WANA (Jun 04) – The spokesperson for Iran’s police announced a major counterterrorism operation in the capital, Tehran, that led to the arrest of 13 members of the ISIS terrorist network.
According to the statement, the Counterterrorism Unit of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command (FARAJA) recently carried out a complex and large-scale operation that successfully dismantled a suicide terror cell affiliated with ISIS.
The group had allegedly planned to carry out bombings and acts of sabotage during recent public ceremonies.
Among those arrested were the ringleader, logistics and coordination teams, and multiple suicide bombers. Security forces also seized explosive vests, backpacks, and other equipment intended for use in attacks.
Authorities say the timely operation prevented a major terrorist incident in the capital.
According to the latest reports, members of this group were foreign nationals.
