24th Dhaka Film Festival to Feature Several Iranian Films
WANA (Dec 27) – The 24th Dhaka Film Festival will be held in Bangladesh from January 10 to 18, showcasing several Iranian films. Hoda Moghadam Manesh, a member of the jury for women filmmakers, and Mahnaz Tafaghi, an Iranian producer, will serve as jurors for the Spiritual Cinema section.
Iranian films in the festival lineup include:
In the Asian Competition: Call Me Ziba, directed by Rasoul Sadr Ameli, Star Husband, by Ebrahim Irajzad (making its international premiere), and Fish on the Hook, by Mohiuddin Muzafar (a joint Iran-Tajikistan production).
In the World Cinema Section: the feature documentary Scarecrow by Houshang Allahyari and Babak Behdad (Austria-Iran co-production), Rainbow by Saleh Alavizadeh (Czech Republic-Germany co-production), and Without Me by Mohammad Asadnia (world premiere).
In the Children’s Films Section: Bagh Kianoosh by Reza Keshavarz Haddad.
In the Short Films Section: Yoyo by Mohammad Reza Mighani, Pure Water by Esmaeil Ramazani and Marzieh Bani Ali, Swans Die Standing by Mousa Razavi, Dirty Clothes Room by Mohammad Hossein Zahmatkesh, Naye Afto by Alireza Sadeghi Moghadam, Rivers Don’t Return by Omid Shokriazi, and Assault by Arshia Zinali.
The festival promises a diverse showcase of Iranian cinema, spanning feature films, documentaries, short films, and children’s movies.
