26 Vessels Pass Through Strait of Hormuz Under IRGC Authorization
WANA (May 28) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that 26 commercial ships and oil tankers passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours under the coordination and security supervision of the force.
According to a statement released by the IRGC Navy’s public relations office, “smart control” of the Strait of Hormuz is being carried out “with full authority,” and all vessels are required to obtain permission and coordinate with the IRGC Navy before transiting the strategic waterway.
The statement added that using unauthorized routes is considered a disruption to the security of the strait and will be dealt with accordingly. The IRGC also said that several vessels attempted to enter the Persian Gulf illegally last night after switching off and manipulating their navigation systems. Following multiple radio warnings, two of the vessels were stopped in place, while the others were forced to turn back.
The IRGC Navy further claimed that the US military violated the ceasefire by launching several missiles toward empty areas near Bandar Abbas Airport, adding that the attack caused no damage. The statement said the American base allegedly responsible for the attack was subsequently targeted in a retaliatory strike.
The IRGC warned that any repetition of such actions by the United States would be met with a harsher response, stressing that control and management of the Strait of Hormuz is carried out “solely” by the IRGC Navy.
