WANA (May 31) – The “27 Rajab” fast attack craft was unveiled last night during the 90th night of popular gatherings in Tehran’s Islamic Enghelab Square among the nation of Iran.

This vessel, which features a trimaran hull, is equipped with the capability to launch two sea-based cruise missiles with a range of 700 kilometers and has the maneuverability and operational capacity to function in waves up to 3 meters high.

The unveiling of this vessel took place under circumstances where the U.S. President had repeatedly claimed over the past months, and in the midst of the recent war, that Iran’s naval capabilities were weakening or would be completely destroyed. However, field realities show a different picture.

The continuous and authoritative presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s naval forces in the strategic waterway of the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf indicates that the country’s defensive capability has not only been maintained but is also on a path of development and modernization.

Military experts believe that today’s naval battles are no longer defined solely by large and expensive warships. The experience of conflicts in recent decades has shown that small, fast vessels equipped with precision missiles and connected to information and operational networks can pose a serious threat to heavy and costly vessels.

In such conditions, the strategy of developing armed fast attack craft is considered one of the most effective methods for creating deterrence and increasing response power in maritime environments.

The “27 Rajab” vessel can also be evaluated within this same framework. This vessel is added to the collection of capabilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, a force that has previously been able to form one of the most diverse and agile combat fleets in the region by possessing fast attack craft such as the Haidar 110, Tareq, Ashoura, Zolfaghar, Seraj, Zoljanah, Ya Mahdi, and Azarakhsh.
