WANA (Jul 10) – A member of a fishermen’s cooperative board has reported that 30 fishing boats were destroyed after two projectiles struck a fishing pier during the recent U.S. attacks on Iran.

Faramarz Jamehgir, a board member of the Posht-e Shahr Fishermen’s Cooperative in Bandar Abbas, outlined the damage inflicted on the fishing community in Hormozgan Province following the recent U.S. military strikes.

He said that during attacks on July 8 and 9, two U.S. projectiles struck the Panj Peleh Fishing Pier in Bandar Abbas, completely destroying at least 30 fishing boats.

Jamehgir said each fishing boat was valued at approximately $11,100, adding that their destruction caused heavy financial losses for local fishermen.

Another board member of the Posht-e Shahr Fishermen’s Cooperative, Hooshang Afrakhteh, said a separate projectile also struck the fishermen’s floating dock at Panj Peleh Pier, causing the floating structure to sink completely.
