33 UN Disarmament Members Condemn Israeli Strikes on Iran
WANA (Jun 24) – In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, thirty-three member states of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament—known collectively as the Group of 21—strongly and unequivocally condemned the Israeli regime’s military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The group denounced Israel’s aggressive actions targeting Iran’s civilian infrastructure, including residential areas, research centers, telecommunications, energy facilities, and transportation networks, describing them as a flagrant violation of fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. The statement warned that such actions undermine regional and international security and pose serious threats to peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The 33 member states further condemned military attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, which are under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), declaring such strikes a breach of international humanitarian law, the IAEA Statute, and relevant IAEA resolutions. They emphasized that these attacks represent a serious threat to civilian safety.
The countries expressing these concerns include: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tunisia, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
In their joint statement, the Group of 21 also expressed their deepest condolences to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
