7 Western Media: Attack on Minab School Carried Out by the U.S.
WANA (Mar 08) – Several Western media outlets have reported that the deadly attack on a school in Minab was carried out by the United States.
CNN (First Report): The network reported that responsibility for the deadly strike on the Minab school lies with the United States.
CNN (Second Report): According to another report, the severe damage to the Minab school indicates that it was targeted with precision-guided munitions.
The New York Times: The newspaper reported that the United States carried out the strike on a girls’ elementary school in Minab, killing 175 students.
Reuters: The news agency also reported that the attack on the Minab school was carried out by the United States.
The Wall Street Journal: The newspaper reported that forces of United States Central Command were responsible for the strike that targeted a school in Iran.
Middle East Eye: According to the outlet, the Minab school was struck with a “double tap,” meaning it was hit twice to target survivors and rescue workers.
NBC News: The network reported that officials in the administration of Donald Trump said in a confidential meeting that the United States targeted the school.
The Daily Telegraph: Investigators believe the United States was behind the attack on the girls’ school in Iran.
Following U.S.-Israeli strikes on Feb 28, 2026, in Iran, the Shajareh Tayebeh School in Minab was among the first targets. In the airstrike on the school, 165 individuals were killed, including students, teachers, and parents. Additionally, 95 people were wounded. The school had 35 staff members, of whom 14 have been confirmed dead so far.
On March 03, 2026, the bodies of the students from the Shajareh Tayebeh School in Minab were laid to rest after a funeral procession that drew large crowds of mourners.
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, condemned the bombing of an elementary school in Iran during the ongoing military attacks by the United States and Israel.
In addition to UNESCO, people from various sectors around the world also reacted to this attack. Mary Trump, the niece of Donald Trump, reacted to reports about the mass burial site of students in Minab. Commenting on the incident, she said: “I defy anybody to justify this.”
