80% of Missiles Hit Targets in Operation True Promise 2
WANA (Oct 02) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that more than 80 percent of missiles successfully struck their predetermined targets during the Operation True Promise 2, conducted under conditions of full enemy alert, providing a morale boost for the wider resistance front.
Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini stated that the operation had been compromised roughly two hours prior to execution, and the enemy was fully prepared.
“Despite these extremely challenging circumstances, which initially raised serious doubts about success, Operation True Promise 2 completely surprised the adversary due to its tactical planning and execution,” Naeini said.
He added that the planning of Operation True Promise 2, building on lessons learned from Operation True Promise 1, combined technical precision with operational initiative.
He noted that some officials had suggested postponing the operation due to security leaks, but the late IRGC commander Major General Hossein Salami trusted the Aerospace Force’s planning and the support of divine guidance, and refused to delay.
Naeini emphasized that the enemy had been fully prepared to counter Iran’s missile strikes. Multi-layered air defense systems in the occupied territories, CENTCOM bases across the region, and more than 200 fighter jets along the flight path were ready to intercept the missiles.
“The overwhelming and seemingly miraculous success of ballistic missile strikes, achieved despite the enemy’s full alert, astonished General Salami,” Naeini said. “Witnessing the divine support and the successful impacts, words of praise could be heard at the command post.”
He described Operation True Promise 2 as a historic and unparalleled demonstration of Iran’s defensive deterrence capabilities, adding that the successful strikes offered both a lesson to adversaries and encouragement for the broader resistance movement.
Naeini also highlighted the leadership roles in the operation, noting that “Martyrs Major Generals Mohammad Bagheri and Hossein Salami guided the mission overall, while Martyrs Major Generals Amirali Hajizadeh and Mahmoud Bagheri were responsible for tactical planning and execution.”
