WANA (Jul 07) –  A delegation of 81 social media influencers and media activists from 27 countries visited the UNESCO-listed Golestan Palace and a specialized photo exhibition in Tehran to assess the structural damage caused by U.S. and Israeli military strikes on Iran’s cultural heritage.

 

The program was organized to document the destruction inflicted on Iran’s historical sites during the “Ramadan War” and to convey the realities on the ground to the global public.

 

The international delegation, which included representatives from the United States, Spain, Italy, Austria, Japan, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, and several other nations, viewed the targeted sections of Golestan Palace first-hand, where cultural heritage experts provided detailed briefings on the damage sustained and ongoing preservation and restoration efforts.

 

Following the palace tour, the delegation visited the “Standing in the Dust” photo exhibition, launched by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts across four major Tehran metro stations: City Theater, Sarsabz, Kianashahr, and Hoseinabad.

 

The exhibition showcases documented imagery of the destruction of 149 historical buildings across Iran, offering domestic and international audiences a stark visual record of the conflict’s toll on the country’s ancient civilization.
