WANA (Sep 30) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the cancellation of the Week 2 AFC Champions League match between Sepahan and India’s Mohun Bagan, removing the Indian team from the tournament table.

Mohun Bagan failed to travel to Isfahan for the scheduled match against Sepahan. In an official statement, the AFC confirmed the cancellation, invalidated the Indian team’s previous points, and referred the matter to the relevant AFC committees for further decisions.

The Indian club had requested to play the match in a neutral venue, citing security concerns in Iran, and therefore did not travel. Last year, Mohun Bagan similarly failed to travel to Tabriz for a match against Tractor.
