WANA (May 29) – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, emphasized Iran’s determination to resolve issues through dialogue, stating: “Iran will not retreat from its principles regarding the preservation of the enrichment cycle and the use of peaceful nuclear knowledge.”

Ali-Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, met on Wednesday afternoon in Moscow. During their meeting, they discussed the expansion of bilateral relations and stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of joint projects between the two countries.

During this meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the most important items on the bilateral agenda as well as on regional and global issues.

Earlier on Wednesday, Ahmadian had also participated in the 13th International Meeting of High-Ranking Security Officials, where he presented the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, focusing on the need to shape a balanced and sustainable security architecture in the international system.

On the sidelines of the summit, he also held multilateral consultations with members of BRICS.
