WANA (Apr 30) – Following reports of air defense activity in several parts of Tehran, sounds of anti-aircraft fire have been heard across multiple areas of the capital.

According to initial information, the activity began around 11:40 p.m., with air defense systems reportedly engaging targets in western, central, and southeastern districts of the city. The sounds continued for at least several minutes after they first started.

A source indicated that the response may have been triggered by the presence of small unmanned aerial vehicles or reconnaissance drones in Tehran’s airspace. However, it remains unclear whether the activity was part of an operational response or a scheduled air defense exercise.

Field observations also confirm the continuation of air defense activity in some areas, though no official details have yet been released regarding the exact nature of the incident.
