WANA (Apr 05) – Multiple airstrikes targeted areas in western Ahvaz, including the city’s international airport, according to local officials.

 

Following reported U.S.-Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in western Ahvaz and the city’s international airport, the deputy governor for security and law enforcement affairs in Khuzestan Province has provided further details.

 

Valliollah Hayati, Deputy Governor for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs of Khuzestan, stated that at approximately 20:45 local time on Sunday (April 5), multiple parts in the province were hit during enemy air attacks.

 

He added that the area adjacent to the Etka store in western Ahvaz was struck four times.

 

Hayati further noted that Ahvaz International Airport was hit twice during the strikes.

 

He also reported that four additional impacts, accompanied by explosions, occurred near Al-Ghadir Square in Ahvaz, adding that further details would be announced later.

 

Earlier today, the Shahid Qassem Soleimani International Airport in Ahvaz was also reportedly struck in a U.S.-Israeli air attack.
