WANA (Jun 19) – The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement described the recent attack on Iran as “a dangerous escalation for the entire region,” stating that it occurred even though Iran, according to its official doctrine, has never sought nuclear weapons.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said the United States is pursuing a deceptive strategy toward Iran, using the nuclear issue merely as a pretext for aggression. “While several countries, including the U.S., possess nuclear weapons and have even used them against civilians, it is the Israeli regime — which evades all accountability — that should be the first to be prevented from having nuclear arms,” he said.

He emphasized that the West’s hostility toward Iran is not truly about nuclear capabilities, but rather Iran’s unwavering support for oppressed nations — especially its stance on Palestine. “Iran is a free and independent nation founded on an Islamic movement of sovereignty and resistance. It has taken responsibility for the concerns of the Islamic world and refused to bow to Western domination. This is what truly angers the enemies,” he said.

Al-Houthi called the recent attack a scandal for the United States, saying it aimed to pressure Iran into submission. However, he added, “Thanks to Iran’s resistance, unity, and devastating response, the enemy failed to achieve its goals.”

He concluded by calling Iran’s retaliation one of the most significant operations in recent memory: “It placed the Israeli enemy in an unprecedented position. Their screams echoed loudly, even as they tried to distort the truth about what happened.”
