Ali Larijani on Israel’s Attack on Qatar
WANA (Sep 10) – Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, wrote on X: “The message of the recent crime by the Zionist regime in Qatar is this: O countries of the region! Recognize my future domination!!”
Following Israel’s airstrike on Qatar, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly condemned what he described as the unlawful, inhumane, and anti-peace actions of Israel in targeting Qatari soil and assassinating Palestinian resistance leaders. He said: “This terrorist act reflects the reality that Israel recognizes no borders for crime and assassination, while at the same time destroying any effort toward diplomacy.”
In a phone call with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s full support and solidarity with Qatar, stressing: “The Islamic Republic of Iran stands with its brothers in Qatar and will take any necessary steps to support its close neighbor and friend.”
On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Israel launched airstrikes on residential areas in Doha, targeting members of Hamas’s political bureau. The Israeli government later issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack.
Israeli media acknowledged that the strike was carried out in coordination with the U.S. government and former President Donald Trump, though Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office insisted the operation against Hamas leaders was “entirely independent and Israeli.”
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the strike in a strongly worded statement, calling it a “criminal and cowardly act,” and warning that it posed a serious threat to the safety of citizens and residents of Qatar.
The Israeli airstrike on the residences and meeting places of Hamas political bureau members in Doha sparked a wave of widespread regional and international condemnation.
