Amir Kabir University Robotics Team Wins 6 Medals at TeknoFest
WANA (Sep 24) – The robotics team from Amir Kabir University of Technology, competing under the name “Iran Robotics Research Centre (IRRC)” and affiliated with the Innovation Centre of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty, secured one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals at the 10th TeknoFest Turkey competition.
Mohammad Javad Haqi, head of the robotics team based at the Innovation Centre of Amir Kabir’s Mechanical Engineering Faculty, highlighted the strong presence of Iranian teams at TeknoFest Turkey.
He described TeknoFest as one of the world’s largest technology, aerospace, and robotics festivals, held annually to promote an innovation culture and technology development in Turkey.
This year’s event attracted over three million visitors, with 460 projects from 24 countries competing in the inventions and innovations league.

Regarding the team’s achievements, Haqi reported that Amir Kabir’s team earned a gold medal in robotics, two silver medals (one in robotics and one in electronics), and three bronze medals—one each in robotics, electronics, and best design.
These honours were registered under the name IRRC (Iran Robotics Research Centre), which operates as a subsidiary of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty’s Innovation Centre at Amir Kabir University.
Haqi also noted that the delegation consisted of about 20 members, including students and researchers, who were scheduled to return to Iran on Wednesday after the competition in Turkey.
