Another Major Strategic Miscalculation Will Force Iran to Respond Decisively
WANA (Jun 11) – Iran’s Foreign Minister warned that another major strategic miscalculation by the three European countries would compel Iran to take decisive action. He emphasized that the full and absolute responsibility for the resulting situation would lie with the malicious actors who have undermined their own credibility.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, ahead of the IAEA Board of Governors’ review of Iran’s nuclear case, issued a warning on the X platform about the erroneous approach of the European Troika. He noted that the three European countries had seven years to fulfill their obligations under the JCPOA but completely failed—whether deliberately or due to incapacity.
He added: “Instead of showing any sign of regret or willingness to facilitate diplomacy, the three European countries are now fueling confrontation by making the absurd demand that Iran be punished for exercising its legal rights under the JCPOA in response to the non-compliance of the other parties.”
Araghchi reiterated his earlier warning to the European countries, stressing that “one more major strategic error by these three countries will compel Iran to take a firm and decisive response. The full and sole responsibility for such a situation will fall on those ill-willed actors who have destroyed their own credibility.”
Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also stated that in response to a possible resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors—which he described as clearly political and likely to pass without consensus—Iran has already anticipated the necessary steps.

He emphasized that all requisite decisions have been made within the framework of the system, and once such a resolution is adopted, these measures will be implemented immediately in the technical domain.
Gharibabadi further asserted that Iran’s nuclear program would continue with “effective and forward-moving steps.”
Meanwhile, the three European countries—the UK, France, and Germany—which are pushing for a new resolution at the Board of Governors meeting as part of their ongoing pressure campaign against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, claim to welcome Iran-U.S. negotiations. At the same time, they assert that Tehran must demonstrate its commitment to a diplomatic solution through “concrete actions.”
