Ansarallah: Trump Rejected Iran’s Response After Call With Netanyahu
WANA (May 12) – Yemen’s Ansarallah movement has warned about the consequences of rejecting Iran’s recent response to the U.S. proposal aimed at ending the war, saying Washington will bear responsibility for the outcome of this decision.
Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of Ansarallah’s media office, said in a post on X that it had been clear from the beginning that the United States, given its “provocative actions and hardline approach,” would not accept Iran’s response.
He stressed that “any consequences resulting from this decision, regardless of their scale or form, will be the responsibility of the United States.”
Amer also claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposal immediately after a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Trump rejected Iran’s response after speaking with Netanyahu,” he said, adding that the move reflects Washington’s susceptibility to Tel Aviv’s positions.
On Sunday evening, the U.S. president confirmed that he had spoken by phone with the Israeli prime minister and discussed Iran’s response with him. At the same time, Trump stated: “Negotiating with Iran is my responsibility and no one else’s.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran had sent its response on Sunday, May 10, through a Pakistani mediator regarding the latest U.S. draft proposal to end the war. However, reacting to the response, Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social: “I just read the so-called response from Iran’s representatives. I don’t like it; it is totally unacceptable.”
