Any Attack on Iranian Territory Will Trigger Response Against U.S. and Israeli Bases
WANA (Jan 21) – Iran’s Attorney General has warned that any violation of Iran’s territorial integrity would prompt a direct response targeting U.S. military bases in the region as well as Israeli positions, describing such targets as legitimate under these circumstances.
Mohammad Kazem Movahedi, Iran’s Attorney General, said that more than 20,000 children have been killed during the war in Gaza, yet, according to him, the international community has failed to take meaningful action. He added that instead of protests or accountability, advanced military equipment has continued to be supplied to Israel.
He also pointed to what he described as a double standard in the enforcement of international law, arguing that rulings issued against the United States or its allies are routinely blocked, vetoed, or prevented from being implemented. As an example, he referred to the arrest warrant issued for Israel’s prime minister, saying it was never allowed to be enforced. Such developments, he said, reflect a broader pattern of disregard for international legal norms and reliance on coercive power.
Addressing domestic issues, Movahedi stated that actions such as setting fire to banks or damaging public property during recent unrest have no place within Iran’s political system. He added that, from the government’s perspective, Iranian society has consistently resisted what it views as injustice and has remained committed to its core principles.
In closing, the Attorney General emphasized Iran’s defensive capabilities, saying the country has reached a level of military deterrence that allows it to respond decisively to external threats. He stressed that if Iran’s territory is attacked, U.S. bases across the region and Israeli-linked targets would be considered part of Iran’s potential response.
