WANA (Feb 27) – Brig. Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, senior spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, issued a strong warning in response to the recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that any conflict would result in the destruction of American troops and equipment in the region.

Shekarchi said that repeated statements and threats by Trump amount to “nothing more than bluster and fantasy.”

He emphasized that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on their defensive and offensive capabilities and backed by what he described as the support of a “brave, united, and resilient nation,” are closely monitoring all movements by the U.S. military and the “Zionist regime” in the region.

The Iranian military spokesman characterized the U.S. military presence in the region as part of a campaign of “psychological warfare, extortion, and bullying.”

He added that if U.S. officials acted with prudence and rationality and understood the true capabilities of Iran’s armed forces, they would “never speak of war.”

Shekarchi warned that any provocative action by the U.S. military or what he called affiliated terrorist groups would be met with a “decisive response and crushing blows” from Iran.

He further stressed that in the event of any confrontation, American soldiers and their equipment would be destroyed, and all U.S. resources and interests in the region would be within range of Iranian fire.

“We have proven that we are not warmongers,” Shekarchi said. “However, we are not afraid of war and will powerfully defend our country and the interests of the dear Iranian nation.”

In his closing remarks, he cautioned the U.S. government that any “foolish action” would ignite widespread conflict across the region and prompt a response “unlike anything you have experienced in your history.”
