Any Miscalculated Action Will Carry Heavy Costs for Americans
WANA (Jan 06) – Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s Parliamentary Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy, issued a warning to the US president and the Israeli regime, saying that any reckless or miscalculated action would impose “heavy, costly, and irreversible consequences” on them.
Referring to developments in Iran over the past week, Azizi said parts of the country had witnessed protests by guilds, merchants, and shopkeepers following instability in the foreign exchange market and various disruptions, particularly in economic and livelihood-related sectors.
He stressed that these protests over weaknesses and shortcomings are legitimate. “Listening to such demands by the parliament and the government is a fundamental right and a defining feature of Iran’s people-based Islamic system, which accepts rightful protest at the highest level and emphasizes hearing and addressing public demands,” he said.
Azizi claimed that alongside these protests—and coinciding with what he described as a meeting between the “delusional and narcissistic” US president and the prime minister of the “fake and criminal Zionist regime”—an operational command center was activated in several neighboring countries. He said the move was aimed at compensating for what he called their “humiliating defeat” in the 12-day war.

Latest Status of Protests in Iran
WANA (Jan 05) – Unrest continues in some Iranian cities. The street protests began following a rise in foreign exchange rates and the price of goods. Over the past few days, the intensity of the protests has experienced various ebbs and flows. In this report, WANA News Agency provides a summary of the latest […]
According to Azizi, this anti-revolutionary network, backed by certain countries and supported with maximum financial resources, sought to organize unrest by exploiting public emotions, manipulating cyberspace, and influencing the minds of young people and teenagers. He said the group attempted to misuse the merchants’ protests to create organized chaos.
He added that the awareness, insight, and enemy recognition of the Iranian nation—particularly faithful merchants and shopkeepers—prevented such efforts from succeeding.
“By separating their legitimate demands from riots and unrest, the people once again proved their commitment to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the honored martyrs, and thwarted the enemy’s plans,” Azizi said.
Azizi emphasized, however, that public restraint and refusal to join radical movements should not be interpreted as satisfaction with the performance of some officials. Addressing the government, he said it must urgently correct flawed policies and ineffective management.

“The parliament, on behalf of the people, will not allow the continuation of weak and inefficient governance, especially in areas directly linked to people’s livelihoods and the economy,” he stated.
He also warned political groups against making provocative statements or engaging in polarization that could undermine national unity. “Such behavior is unworthy of a nation that achieved victory and created an epic during the 12-day confrontation,” he said, adding that officials and institutions failing to address shortcomings should be held accountable.
In a final warning addressed directly to the US president and the Israeli regime, Azizi said they must first learn how to speak respectfully to a nation with Iran’s history and civilization and avoid inappropriate rhetoric. “Secondly,” he said, “any threat, empty talk, or uncalculated action will bring heavy, costly, and irreparable consequences.”
He concluded by stating that any harm to Iran’s security—whether directly or through affiliated elements—would be met with a response that would make “anywhere in the world unsafe” for those responsible. “If they disrupt the peace of the Iranian nation, we will take peace away from them wherever they may be,” Azizi said.
