WANA (Jun 19) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation on Friday with Mohammad Ishaq Dar to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing diplomatic process, as well as a number of bilateral issues.

 

During the call, Araghchi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts, initiatives, and constructive role in advancing diplomatic negotiations and facilitating the achievement of a memorandum of understanding. He praised Islamabad’s support for dialogue and its contribution to efforts aimed at reducing tensions.

 

The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the United States’ responsibility and commitment to ending conflicts across all fronts, including in Lebanon. He stressed that any violation of the commitments contained in the memorandum of understanding would be the responsibility of the United States and warned of the potential consequences of such a move.

 

For his part, Ishaq Dar welcomed the ongoing diplomatic process and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the continuation of negotiations and efforts aimed at achieving positive and lasting outcomes. He also expressed hope for the success of the next stages of the process.

 

The two ministers additionally reviewed several bilateral issues and emphasized the importance of maintaining consultations, coordination, and diplomatic engagement between Iran and Pakistan.
