WANA (Aug 23) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, held a phone call on Saturday, August 22, discussing the latest regional developments and effective ways to strengthen peace, stability and security in West Asia.

 

During the conversation, the two sides reviewed the current situation in the region and exchanged views on ongoing diplomatic efforts, political solutions and ways to strengthen regional consultations and cooperation.

 

The call came as Araghchi has stepped up diplomatic consultations with regional officials in recent days. He had previously held phone conversations with Munir to discuss regional developments and diplomatic initiatives.

 

Araghchi also spoke by phone with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Saturday, discussing regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions.

 

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi traveled to Tehran on August 11 and met with Araghchi at the Foreign Ministry to discuss bilateral issues and regional developments.

 

Pakistan has played an active role in recent diplomatic contacts aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the United States. Continued consultations between Iranian and Pakistani officials are part of broader diplomatic efforts to pursue political solutions and ease tensions across the region.
