WANA (Jun 22) – Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs announced the suspension of sanctions targeting Iranian oil and petrochemical exports following the conclusion of diplomatic talks in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.

 

In a post on the X social media platform early Monday morning, Seyed Abbas Araghchi referenced the conclusion of the four-party negotiations, stating that the tireless mediation of Pakistan and Qatar had led to major breakthroughs toward ending the war in Lebanon.

 

The Foreign Minister further reported that sanctions on oil and petrochemical exports had been suspended, the maritime blockade had been lifted, a portion of frozen assets had been released, and a major plan for Iran’s economic development and reconstruction had been put into effect.

The announcement follows a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in coordination with Pakistan, which confirmed that the first round of mediated talks between Iran and the United States at the Lake Lucerne summit concluded in a “positive atmosphere” and was accompanied by notable progress.
