WANA (Nov 05) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has extended heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Afghanistan following a powerful earthquake that struck parts of the country’s north, causing numerous fatalities and widespread destruction.

 

In an official message, the minister expressed deep sorrow and sympathy over the tragic loss of life and extensive damage, stating: “The recurrence of such a devastating earthquake in northern Afghanistan, which has claimed the lives of many citizens and caused severe destruction, is a matter of great grief and regret.”

 

The statement conveyed the sincere condolences of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Afghan government, nation, and bereaved families, while wishing a swift recovery for the injured.

 

Iran also announced its readiness to dispatch immediate humanitarian and relief assistance to the affected regions.

 

The earthquake, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck northern Afghanistan early on the morning of November 3rd. Initial reports indicate dozens of fatalities and hundreds of injuries, with emergency teams dispatched to assist victims and carry out rescue operations.
