Araghchi Highlights Regional Security After Oman Visit
WANA (Apr 27) – Following a high-stakes diplomatic visit to Muscat, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi underscored the pivotal role of Persian Gulf nations in maintaining maritime security.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi expressed gratitude to his Omani hosts, describing their discussions as “important” and focused on bilateral and regional developments.
“As only Hormuz littoral states, our focus included ways to ensure safe transit that is to benefit of all dear neighbors and the world,” Araghchi stated, reiterating that “neighbors are our priority.”
The visit to Oman was a key leg of a regional tour that began in Islamabad, Pakistan, where the Foreign Minister held extensive consultations with senior officials regarding Iran-U.S. negotiations.
During his stay in Muscat, Araghchi met with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to discuss mediation efforts and sustainable political solutions for regional conflicts.
Following these diplomatic missions in Pakistan and Oman, Araghchi has now arrived in Russia. His visit to Moscow is expected to focus on strengthening strategic cooperation and discussing the latest international developments, marking the final stage of his current diplomatic circuit.
