WANA (Jun 15) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held separate phone conversations with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss the latest regional developments and the provisions of the recent Islamabad Memorandum.

 

During the calls, Araghchi briefed the Lebanese officials on the details of the memorandum, particularly the sections concerning Lebanon, and underscored the importance of implementing its provisions.

 

The Iranian foreign minister also reiterated Iran’s commitment to ending the conflict and halting attacks against Lebanon. He stressed the United States’ responsibility in ensuring the proper implementation of the memorandum and emphasized the need for a complete cessation of Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.

 

For their part, the Lebanese leaders welcomed the contents of the memorandum, describing Lebanon’s stability and security as an integral part of any serious effort to achieve broader regional stability.

 

They also expressed appreciation for the inclusion of provisions addressing an end to the war against Lebanon, viewing it as a positive step toward reducing tensions in the region.
