Araghchi in Dushanbe for Official Talks
WANA (Jul 30) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, arrived in Dushanbe this morning (Wednesday, July 30) on an official visit to Tajikistan.
Upon his arrival, Araghchi was welcomed by Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister and later held talks with President Emomali Rahmon at the Palace of Nations.

Ismail Baghaei, Foreign Ministry spokesman who is accompanying Araghchi on this one-day trip, said the purpose of the meetings was to review bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.
In a post on the social media platform X, Baghaei described Tajikistan as “the land of kindred, kindred-tongued, and kindred-hearted people” and, highlighting the significance of the visit, quoted a verse from Saadi:
“The company of a dear friend is the essence of enduring life;
A single moment with a true companion is worth both worlds.”
The trip comes as part of Iran’s ongoing consultations with Central Asian countries aimed at strengthening political and economic ties.

In a meeting held at the Palace of Nations, Iran’s Foreign Minister, conveying the greetings of the Supreme Leader and the President of Iran to the President and people of Tajikistan, reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s determination to expand relations with Tajikistan in all areas of mutual interest.
The Iranian Foreign Minister, highlighting the deep bonds of friendship and understanding between the peoples of Iran and Tajikistan—particularly their shared language, ancestry, civilization, history, and culture—stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to making full use of these unique and invaluable commonalities to further strengthen and deepen cooperation in the economic, commercial, diplomatic, cultural, educational, and other fields of interest to both nations.
President Emomali Rahmon, while warmly welcoming Iran’s Foreign Minister and sending his cordial greetings to the Supreme Leader and the President of Iran, described the relationship between the two nations as special and rooted in profound historical friendship. He underscored the necessity of further enhancing bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the current state of bilateral ties and the opportunities ahead for strengthening cooperation were discussed.
The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in their surrounding regions—including the Caucasus, Central Asia, Afghanistan, and West Asia—and exchanged views and analyses regarding these developments.
