Araghchi: Iran Ready to Further Expand Relations with the UAE
WANA (Feb 09) – The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, highlighting the positive and steadily expanding ties between Tehran and Abu Dhabi, stated that Iran is ready to further develop bilateral relations within the framework of shared and mutual interests.
On Monday evening, February 9, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, met with Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, Araghchi emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade sectors. The meeting took place during the UAE minister’s visit to Tehran to attend the second session of the Iran–UAE Political Consultations Committee.
Expressing satisfaction with the constructive talks held with Iranian officials, the UAE Minister of State underscored her country’s determination to continue expanding bilateral relations across various fields, especially economic and commercial cooperation. She also welcomed the resumption of diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States in Muscat, stressing the UAE’s commitment to maintaining stability, security, and de-escalation in the region.
During the meeting, Iran’s Foreign Minister likewise pointed to the constructive role of regional countries in helping reduce tensions and expressed appreciation for diplomatic efforts and regional initiatives aimed at safeguarding peace and stability.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international developments and emphasized the need to strengthen stability and security in the region through dialogue, diplomatic solutions, and the continuation of consultations and regular contacts between the two countries.
