WANA (Jul 24) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran will continue pursuing its objectives until they are achieved, stressing that the country will not back down in the face of pressure, threats, or what he described as U.S. coercion.

 

Speaking on the sidelines of a foreign ministers’ meeting, Araghchi said consultations with Russia and China remain ongoing, adding that he held detailed discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the latest developments.

 

He also referred to Pakistan’s efforts to propose initiatives aimed at ending the war against Iran, saying that while discussions have taken place regarding such proposals, the main obstacle between Tehran and Washington is not the lack of a mediator but the U.S. approach.

 

Araghchi reiterated that Iran will not yield to threats, pressure, or the use of force, emphasizing that protecting the Iranian people and safeguarding the country’s national interests, including in the Strait of Hormuz, remain core principles of Tehran’s policy. He added that “as long as the legitimate objectives and demands of the Iranian people have not been fulfilled, it is only natural that we will continue on our course.”

 

The foreign minister also said many participants at the meeting praised Iran’s response to the United States and Israel, both publicly and in private conversations. According to Araghchi, one foreign minister told him that “very few countries in the world would have been capable of doing what Iran has done.”

 

He argued that recent developments have strengthened Iran’s international standing, saying the country is now viewed as “a strong, resilient, and determined nation” and that Tehran intends to continue along the same path with greater resolve.
