Araghchi: Iran Will Not Accept Any Political Measures That Escalate Tensions
WANA (Sep 19) – In a phone conversation with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran’s Foreign Minister reviewed the latest developments regarding the Iran-IAEA agreement and the snapback issue, emphasizing that as a responsible country, Iran has consistently pursued diplomacy and technical cooperation to address matters related to its nuclear program. Iran will not accept any political measures or unfair pressure that could lead to heightened tensions.
This afternoon, Friday, September 19, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, held a phone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister.
During the call, both sides discussed the latest status of the Iran-IAEA agreement, the snapback issue, and the resolution on the continuation of sanctions relief at the United Nations Security Council.
The Iranian Foreign Minister criticized the dominance of political considerations over the IAEA Board of Governors’ session and emphasized that Iran’s cooperation with the Agency is entirely technical and conducted within the framework of international regulations.
Araghchi further reiterated that, as a responsible country, Iran has consistently followed the path of diplomacy and technical collaboration to resolve issues concerning its nuclear program and will not accept any political actions or unfair pressure that could escalate tensions.
