Araghchi Meets with Egyptian President
WANA (Jun 02) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, currently in Cairo for an official visit, met Monday morning with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and key regional and international developments.
Araghchi conveyed warm greetings from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to his Egyptian counterpart and expressed satisfaction over the recent intensification of high-level contacts between the two countries. He described Iran–Egypt consultations on ongoing regional developments as constructive and emphasized the need for continued dialogue and cooperation.
Highlighting the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, Araghchi called for collective and effective action by Islamic countries to stop the Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide and to halt its expansionism and occupation in Lebanon and Syria
President el-Sisi, in turn, conveyed his regards to President Pezeshkian and stressed Egypt’s commitment to continued close consultations with Iran and the development of bilateral ties based on mutual interests and respect.

El-Sisi also reiterated Egypt’s efforts to end the genocide and violence in Gaza and emphasized Cairo’s commitment to reducing tensions in the region and promoting calm in the broader Islamic world.
The meeting also included discussions on the latest status of indirect talks between Iran and the United States.
The Iranian foreign minister arrived in Cairo on Sunday evening for consultations with senior Egyptian officials.
During the visit, Araghchi is also scheduled to meet with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations, regional issues—particularly the need to confront the crimes of the Israeli regime—as well as certain international matters.
