WANA (Jun 03) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, who is visiting Lebanon, met today with the country’s Foreign Minister.

 

The meeting between Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Youssef Raja took place on Tuesday morning.

 

In the meeting, Araghchi highlighted the long-standing and positive history of relations between the two nations and emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to deepen ties with Lebanon across various political, economic, and commercial fields.

 

The Iranian Foreign Minister also reiterated his country’s continued support for Lebanon’s independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as for the efforts of the Lebanese government and people in resisting Israeli aggression and occupation, and in seeking the liberation of occupied territories in the south of the country.

 

Youssef Raji, for his part, praised the deep respect the Lebanese people hold for the Iranian nation and its millennia-old culture and civilization. He affirmed the Lebanese government’s willingness to expand bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various domains.

 

Upon his arrival in Beirut, Araghchi stated: “My visit to Lebanon is part of a broader regional tour. We are determined to continue our relations with Lebanon based on mutual interests and respect.”
