WANA (Sep 05) – The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that during his Thursday meeting with the Emir of Qatar, he delivered a verbal message from Iran’s President.

In an interview with the Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq in Doha — the full text of which will be published on Sunday — Seyed Abbas Araghchi praised the results of his meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, saying: “In this meeting, I conveyed a verbal message from President Masoud Pezeshkian to the Emir of Qatar. It was a very important and impactful meeting.”

He added that the discussions covered bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar, particularly the misunderstanding that arose after Iran’s attacks on Qatar’s Al-Udeid Air Base following the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Araghchi stressed that his talks with both the Emir and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, were highly productive, serious, and beneficial.

The senior Iranian diplomat said: “We discussed a range of issues, starting with bilateral relations and recent developments. Fortunately, there are no differences between the two countries, and the misunderstanding has been completely resolved through this visit.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister added: “We also discussed ways to achieve regional stability, especially the resumption of dialogue among regional countries to ensure security and cooperation in confronting the Israeli regime’s hegemony and aggression against countries in the region.”

Araghchi further noted: “The Iranian nuclear file was also discussed in detail. I briefed the Emir of Qatar on the latest developments in this matter. Our friends in Qatar have always had valuable perspectives, and we have regularly exchanged views on these issues. This meeting also included constructive consultations.”
