WANA (Sep 15) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Monday evening, September 14, discussing regional developments and the situation in southern Lebanon.

 

During the call, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s support for Lebanon’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity and stressed the Islamic Republic’s full support for Lebanon’s resistance against Israeli occupation and aggression.

 

The two sides also discussed regional developments and the need for greater coordination among regional countries to counter Israel’s expansionist policies and its efforts to fuel conflict in Lebanon and other parts of the region.

 

Berri, for his part, thanked Iran for its support for Lebanon and briefed Araghchi on the latest situation in southern Lebanon. He also stressed the legal and moral responsibility of the international community and Muslim countries to stop Israeli violations and hold those responsible accountable.
