Araghchi–Pakistan Army Chief Discuss Ceasefire Violations
WANA (Apr 08) – Iran’s Foreign Minister held a phone call today with Pakistan’s Army Chief, during which ceasefire violations in Iran and Lebanon by Israel were discussed.
According to reports, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke on Wednesday with General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, about recent regional developments and ways to enhance peace and stability.
Araghchi praised Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role, as well as its continued and effective efforts to help end conflicts and strengthen regional security.
Both sides also referred to a recent phone call between Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, stressing the importance of continued coordination and follow-up on agreed matters.
Ceasefire violations in Iran and Lebanon by Israel were a key topic of discussion, with both sides emphasizing the need for coordinated positions in response.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s prime minister described his recent conversation with Iran’s president as “warm and productive,” confirming Tehran’s participation in upcoming peace talks to be hosted in Islamabad.
The Iranian president also welcomed the initiative, expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts, and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan, while affirming Iran’s readiness to actively engage in diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing regional stability.
