Araghchi Responds to Israel’s Online Campaign: “We Don’t Pay People to Lie”
WANA (Oct 06) – In reaction to a new report exposing Israel’s social media propaganda drive, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi openly condemned the campaign.
According to the Quincy Institute, Israel has recruited a group of around 14 to 18 U.S.-based influencers, paying them up to $7,000 per sponsored post to promote positive narratives about the country and improve its image among American audiences.

The revelation came amid growing global outrage over Israel’s actions in Gaza. In this climate, CNN host Van Jones sparked backlash after making an inappropriate joke about Palestinian children killed in the conflict. He further accused Iran and Qatar of trying to sway U.S. public opinion by spreading videos of Palestinian victims on social media. The criticism forced Jones to issue a public apology.
Responding to Jones’s apology, Araghchi posted a screenshot of the Quincy report and wrote: “We don’t pay anyone to lie on social media. That’s what Israel does.”
His remarks once again drew attention to the behind-the-scenes “information war” being waged online and the orchestrated propaganda efforts attributed to Israel.
