Araghchi Responds to Polish Foreign Minister: Repeating Baseless Claims Solves Nothing
WANA (Oct 21) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, responded to anti-Iranian remarks made by his Polish counterpart in a post on his account on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote: “Mr. Minister, I invited you to a reasoned dialogue and an exchange of documents. Evading accountability, repeating baseless claims, and making interventionist statements will not solve any problem.”
Araghchi continued: “As you are well aware, during the difficult days of World War II, it was Iran that sheltered more than one hundred thousand Polish refugees and helped them build their free army. The Iranian nation is rooted in such a proud and influential past and will continue to shape its future along the path of progress and prosperity. The friendship between the peoples of Iran and Poland was proven in times of hardship, and it is our duty to preserve this historical and cultural legacy.”
Earlier, on October 16, following the Polish foreign minister’s cooperation with an American-Israeli group to stage an anti-Iran event at the British Parliament—and his false claims regarding the use of Iranian drones in the Russia–Ukraine conflict—Marcin Wilczek, head of Poland’s diplomatic mission in Tehran, was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry by Mahmoud Heidari, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director General for the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe.
During the meeting, Heidari rejected the Polish minister’s interventionist and baseless remarks, expressed regret over the repetition of such clichés, and conveyed Iran’s strong protest to the Polish side.
