Araghchi: The World Is Tired of Confused Leaders
WANA (Jan 23) – Following recent remarks by the President of Ukraine, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi criticized Volodymyr Zelensky’s positions as contradictory to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
Referring to Kyiv’s extensive efforts to secure Western financial and military support, Araghchi said: “Mr. Zelensky has shaken down American and European taxpayers as much as he could, claiming to defend his country against what he calls an illegal invasion in violation of the UN Charter, while filling the pockets of corrupt generals.”
He described Zelensky’s recent call for U.S. military action against Iran as a clear contradiction, adding: “At the same time, without any sense of shame, he calls for an illegal American attack on Iran, in direct violation of the very same UN Charter.”
Araghchi stressed that the international community has grown weary of inconsistent rhetoric and political theatrics. “The world is tired of confused clowns,” he said, adding: “Unlike armies dependent on foreign powers and mercenaries, Iranians know very well how to defend themselves and have no need to beg outsiders for help.”
The remarks come amid rising global tensions, as debates over respect for international law, the UN Charter, and double standards in global politics continue to intensify.
