WANA (May 05) – Iran’s Foreign Minister is continuing his diplomatic consultations and will travel to Beijing today, where he is set to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments with his Chinese counterpart.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, will depart for Beijing on Tuesday, May 5, as part of his ongoing diplomatic engagements with various countries.

During this visit, he will meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to exchange views on bilateral relations and regional and global developments.

Araghchi and Wang Yi had previously held a phone conversation on Wednesday, April 15. In that call, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for China and Russia’s responsible decision to oppose an irrational and one-sided US-proposed resolution at the UN Security Council on regional developments, describing it as effective in preventing further escalation of tensions.

The Chinese Foreign Minister, in the same call, emphasized his country’s readiness to help advance diplomacy and bring an end to the conflict.

The head of Iran’s diplomatic apparatus has recently also visited Pakistan, Oman, and Russia.

On Friday night, April 24, Seyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad for a regional tour. On Saturday, April 25, he met with Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, presenting Iran’s views on ending the war to senior Pakistani officials. Later that same night, he traveled to Muscat, where on Sunday, April 26, he met and held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and his Omani counterpart Badr al-Busaidi. After concluding his meetings, he returned to Islamabad.

Following these visits, the Iranian Foreign Minister then traveled to Russia, where he met with President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
