WANA (Jul 25) – In a phone conversation held on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Araghchi condemned the intensifying crimes committed by the Israeli regime, especially the blockade that has deprived the people of Gaza of food, medicine, and clean water. He stressed the urgent need for mobilizing all available capacities — including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international mechanisms — to break the siege and deliver essential humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also called for decisive global action to halt what he described as an ongoing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also condemned the Israeli Knesset’s recent move to impose full control over the West Bank, labeling it another manifestation of the regime’s expansionist ambitions and disregard for international law. Araghchi said the measure — coinciding with the atrocities in Gaza and widespread human rights violations in the West Bank — reflects a clear intent to erase Palestine as a land, a nation, and a distinct identity. He welcomed the strong condemnation issued by the OIC and a majority of world governments, calling such unified opposition both significant and meaningful.

During the call, Araghchi briefed his Saudi counterpart on the latest developments in Iran’s ongoing negotiations with the three European countries.

Both sides emphasized the need for urgent, practical measures to support the Palestinian people and to stop the violence. They exchanged views on how to activate regional and international capacities — including OIC structures and joint Islamic-Arab frameworks — to this end. The Saudi Foreign Minister reiterated his country’s readiness to contribute to advancing this goal.
