Araghchi Warns of “Israeli Regime” Activity in Caribbean
WANA (Nov 26) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call late Tuesday with Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto, discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Caribbean region.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers reviewed cooperation in various fields, including economic, trade, and technological areas. Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration at bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as within the framework of South–South cooperation.
The two officials also exchanged views on recent international developments and the current situation in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Araghchi condemned what he described as the United States’ “bullying approach” toward Venezuela and other independent developing countries in the Western Hemisphere.
He said Washington’s threats to use force against these nations constitute a blatant violation of the UN Charter and peremptory norms of international law.
He underscored the global community’s collective responsibility to uphold the principles and objectives of the United Nations in the face of U.S. unilateralism.
Referring to what he called the “Israeli regime’s activities” in the Caribbean and Latin America, Araghchi described these developments as a serious threat to peace, stability, and security in the region.
He stressed the responsibility of all governments to pursue accountability and prosecution of officials from the “Israeli regime” for alleged genocide and other grave crimes.
Venezuela’s foreign minister expressed appreciation for Iran’s principled positions and highlighted the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between Tehran and Caracas.
He reaffirmed the Venezuelan government and people’s resolve to resist U.S. pressure and what he called unlawful interference.
