WANA (Jan 02) – Following the recent protest gatherings in Iran, the Political, Social, and Security Deputy of the Governor of Malard, a county in Tehran Province, said: 30 individuals who, by abusing the legal right of citizens to protest, had taken action to disrupt public order and security in Malard County were arrested last night by security bodies.

 

Saleki stated: Investigations show that a number of those arrested had entered Malard from neighboring counties. They are currently in the custody of security bodies, and their cases are under review.

 

Saleki added: According to this report, several other individuals linked to these actions have also been identified. Operations to arrest them are on the agenda, and legal action will be taken against them in the near future.

 

He stated: Some of these individuals had been attempting to recruit youths and deceive individuals.

 

In Hamedan, a city in western Iran, as well, individuals involved in unrest, in an attempt to create insecurity in the city of Hamedan, attacked the Basij Veterans Center opposite the Amir al-Mo’menin Mosque and set Qur’ans and books of supplications on fire.

 

The Houz-Agha Mosque in the Bein al-Nahrain area in Hamedan was also targeted by an attack by about 20 individuals involved in unrest, who, according to reports, were dispersed due to the timely presence of Basij forces and were unable to carry out their actions.
