WANA (Mar 18) – Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has issued a message of condolence following the assassination of Dr. Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and the Leader’s representative to the council, as well as Larijani’s son and several of his colleagues.

In his message, he expressed “deep sorrow” over the painful news of the attack, portraying Larijani as a figure who was “learned, far-sighted, intelligent, committed, and endowed with diverse experience in political, military, security, cultural, and managerial fields.”

He further emphasized that nearly five decades of Larijani’s role in different layers of the Islamic Republic had made him an outstanding and distinguished figure within the system.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the assassination of the senior official as a reflection of both “the significance of his position” and “the hatred of the enemies of Islam” toward such figures. In the message, he stressed that those hostile to Islam should understand that shedding such blood at the foot of “the towering tree of the Islamic system” would not weaken it, but instead make it stronger.

He also warned that “every blood has its price,” adding that the perpetrators of the crime would soon be made to pay for their actions.

At the end of the message, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei extended his condolences to Larijani’s wife, children, and other relatives, especially Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of those killed in the attack.
