Azizi: Closing the Strait of Hormuz Was the Response to U.S. Bad Faith
WANA (Apr 18) – The Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament has declared that the reinstatement of strict regulations in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct response to American “bad faith,” asserting that the U.S. President is substituting “dreams” for factual reality.
Ebrahim Azizi stated that the “black record” of the United States since the beginning of the Revolution has proven that breaking promises is an inseparable part of Washington’s political doctrine.
Strict Regulations Reinstated
In response to what he described as the “new hypocrisy” of the enemy during the Islamabad negotiations, Azizi confirmed that the Armed Forces and the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters have re-implemented stringent transit regulations in the Strait of Hormuz.
“While Trump, in cyberspace and through media under his control, tries to deceive public opinion and imply an agreement through dreaming and claiming contact with Iranian officials, the reality of the field is something else,” Azizi said.
He added that Iran is not deceived by “empty rhetoric” and has prepared a response at strategic chokepoints that will cause regret for any new breach of faith.
“The Era of Bullying Has Ended”
The senior lawmaker further characterized U.S. actions as “maritime piracy,” arguing that Washington lacks the capability to actually blockade Iran.
On Diplomatic Language: Azizi suggested that if the U.S. President claims to understand Iran’s role as a decisive global actor, he must change his tone from “dreaming and bullying” to “politeness and humility” toward the Iranian people.
On Sovereign Borders: He noted that the Strait of Hormuz is the sovereign domain of a nation that has successfully navigated a “40-day battle” with victory, stating the area is no place for intimidation.
On the Naval Blockade: Azizi corrected the terminology used by international media, stating that the U.S. action is not a “blockade” but “maritime piracy,” as Washington has never had the power to blockade “Great Iran.”
He concluded by warning that any aggression against Iran’s maritime routes has been, and will continue to be, met with a response that will make the aggressor repent.
