Azizi: The Next War Will Be a World War
WANA (Jun 10) – Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Parliament, has warned that any future military confrontation between Iran and the United States could expand beyond the Middle East and take on global dimensions.
In a post on X, Azizi wrote: “This time, it will be a World War. We are not afraid of fighting losers.”
The senior lawmaker also claimed that U.S. casualties are higher than the figures publicly acknowledged by American officials. “Even now, there are far more American coffins than Trump admits, and the number will continue to rise, because this time the conflict will not remain limited to the region,” he wrote.
Azizi’s remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House, reiterated that negotiations with Iran are continuing while once again raising the possibility of military action against Tehran. Trump claimed that the two sides are close to reaching an agreement, but that Iran is delaying its finalization.
Responding to a question about the possibility of strikes against Iranian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, Trump said such options remain on the table, without providing further details. He also suggested that additional military action against Iran could be considered.
