WANA (Jul 08) – The Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, has warned Washington following overnight military flare-ups, demanding that the United States accept Tehran’s dominance over the strategic waterway.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ebrahim Azizi addressed the overnight airstrikes by the US military in southern Iran and the subsequent retaliatory missile and drone strikes launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

“Recognize the new Iranian order in the Strait of Hormuz,” Azizi wrote. “This is the only way forward.”

The U.S. military early Wednesday confirmed that it had carried out a series of strikes against targets in southern Iran. Washington said the operation was launched in response to what it described as Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and accused Tehran of violating the ceasefire.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in response, launched a joint missile and drone operation targeting 85 critical US military facilities and shot down an MQ-9 Reaper drone.

The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters also issued a stern statement warning that Iran’s armed forces will deliver a decisive response to recent US airstrikes, asserting that Tehran will never tolerate foreign interference in the management of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
