WANA (Jun 16) – The chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee stated that the United States was compelled to enter negotiations and accept Tehran’s conditions as a result of the Iranian people’s resistance, adding that the era of disregarding the rights of the Iranian nation has come to an end.

 

In a post published on X, Ebrahim Azizi described the resilience of the Iranian people as the key factor behind Washington’s shift in approach, saying that the United States had no option but to come to the negotiating table and accept Iran’s terms.

 

He also stressed that Washington is now responsible for fully and faithfully implementing all provisions of the memorandum of understanding in order to build trust with the Iranian people. According to Azizi, these commitments include ending the war against Lebanon and ensuring the swift withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

 

The chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee further warned that any breach of commitments or departure from the core framework of the agreement would trigger a firm response. He stated that, under such circumstances, Iran’s armed forces, backed by public support, would respond “more forcefully and decisively than before.”

 

Azizi concluded by describing the message as one that extends beyond bilateral relations, asserting that “the era of excessive demands and trampling on the rights of the Iranian nation is over.”
