WANA (Sep 05) – In a post shared on X, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei addressed the American public regarding a proposal published in The Jerusalem Post that suggested using U.S. student loan and credit card debt relief as a recruitment mechanism for military action against Iran.

Baghaei urged Americans to ask themselves why their sons and daughters should be promised bank debt forgiveness in exchange for fighting and dying in a war that he said Israel seeks to continue and expand.

He stated that The Jerusalem Post had openly discussed utilizing student loans and credit card debt to recruit indebted Americans to be sent to the war front with Iran, describing the concept as an effort to fight someone else’s war using American lives and tax money.

Addressing the U.S. public directly, Baghaei called on them not to allow themselves to be turned into foot soldiers and taxpayers funding a war that was never their choice, and warned them against letting their children be turned into mercenaries for an illegal war.
